Greetings from sunny Tampa and the 2012 School Equipment Show hosted by National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA). InfoComm just wrapped up the third and final event in the Power of AV for Education series for 2013. This series is designed to examine future trends in learning and how technology plays a role in education, especially the improvement of learning environments and how technology facilitates classroom and training room activities. (more…)
Day one at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) was a rousing success. While Amsterdam is quite cold (temps later this week are expected to drop to -20° F!), the action on the Show floor is red hot. So far, I have experienced the Digital Signage Pavilion, which is largest grouping of this product I have ever seen, and an incredible variety of LED displays. The mood of the event is of intense excitement and anticipation for whatever technology is around the corner. If you are looking for gloom and doom, you will not find it at ISE, where the troubles of the world economy seem far away.
Education sessions have been popular, particularly InfoComm’s Future Trends Conference. It has been a great experience meeting so many members in class and at the InfoComm Stand. Congratulations are also due to our latest group of CTS holders, freshly-minted onsite.
I will update tomorrow,
Audiovisual industry professionals are finishing up at the conference and exhibition TecnoMultimedia-InfoComm 2011, being held at the Convention Center Plaza Mayor of Medellin, Colombia. This new two-day event has been important for the association, expanding our presence in Colombia and extending the training of industry professionals in Latin America.
Visitors to the tradeshow were struck by the large scale and innovative designs of the stands. The presence of companies such as Panasonic, Yamaki, Sony, BenQ, Epson, Samsung, Bosch and Williams Sound consolidated the event as the ideal place to present the latest technological advances and new trends in equipment. As for the academic component, assistants received training by InfoComm instructors on topics such as Integrated Intelligent Control Systems, Audiovisual Integration in the Classroom, Soundproofing and AV Design Fundamentals.
TecnoMultimedia-InfoComm 2011 has been a great collaboration with Latin Press.

Integrated Systems Russia (ISR), the top show in Russia for pro-AV and systems integration, just wrapped up a very successful show here at the EXPOCENTRE, in Moscow, Russia. In terms of overall show experience, this is perhaps the best one I have attended since the start in 2007.
This show is the hub for the latest and greatest in professional AV and electronic systems technologies for the commercial, professional and residential integration industries. ISR also provides an international meeting place for professional integrators, consultants and other members of the AV industry. ISR was held along with Hi-Tech Building, a building automation tradeshow. With these two events running simultaneously and cross-pollinating attendees, the two events ran like one big, vibrant and buzzing tradeshow.
We’ll see you again next year for ISR 2012, October 30 – November 1, 2012 at the EXPOCENTRE.
