Happy AV Week — from Dubai

Happy AV Week — from Dubai

It is truly AV Week here in Dubai, as InfoComm Middle East & Africa (IFMEA) opened on Sunday to eager attendees looking to see the latest AV technology. When the show debuted last year at the Dubai World Trade Centre, more than 12,000 visitors attended. But the truly incredible statistic is that 11,000 of the attendees were end-users from a wide spectrum of vertical markets.

How is this possible? IFMEA, is co-located with GITEX Technology Week, one of the leading IT shows in the world, with more than 138,000 attendees. This year, professionals in business, education, hospitality, transportation, defense and more, will see more than 100 exhibitors at IFMEA.

It has been great meeting our members in the Middle East. We have enjoyed great conversations about certification, training and the state of the industry. We hope to see more as the week continues.

Burgeoning Beijing — InfoComm China Show Shatters Records

Burgeoning Beijing — InfoComm China Show Shatters Records

Is 2012 the Year of the AV Trade Show? At the close of day two of InfoComm China 2012, attendance hovered close to 15,000 (14,868), representing a 39 percent increase over its previous showing in 2011. Final attendance at close of the 3-day exhibition is expected to exceed 16,000, a record turnout. Record attendance is also driving interest in industry education. The 30 sessions of the InfoComm China Summit education program attracted a record attendance of 1,550 delegates, more than double that of last year. Exhibitors are so thrilled with the 38 percent increase in visitor attendance over last year, that InfoComm China is expanding in 2013 with two additional halls.

Elated exhibitors are responding by signing up for larger booths for the 2013 event in order to accommodate the crowds that converged on the 22,000 sq metres (237,000 sq ft) of Halls 1 to 4 this year. The 2013 show will expand to Halls 5 and 6 next year to cater to the additional demand for space. Demand is coming not just from existing exhibitors, but from other manufacturers that have visited the show and indicated their intent to join next year’s event.

InfoComm China 2013 will take place from 10-12 April at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing.

We hope to see you there!

InfoComm China 2012 Opens in Beijing

InfoComm China 2012 Opens in Beijing

Dear AV friends,

The weather is sunny, the mood is exciting and Beijing is a wonderful city to host China’s most spectacular AV trade show, InfoComm China 2012. The Beijing exhibition center is located right next to the Beijing National Stadium which was used in the Olympic Games 2008 aka Birds Nest.

I’m certainly impressed with the scale and size of the exhibitors stands which are beautifully adorned with the latest display, audio and network dazzlers. Right from the day’s opening ceremony, the stands were packed so tight with technology that attendees will need to walk around with their explorer’s hats on. We have been greeted with smiles, kindness and a willingness to assist with any technology inquiry. The organizers have got all things right when it comes to the exhibition center, managing the flow of the traffic, introducing visitor incentives such as the iPhone 4S prize draw initiative and there is even a good coffee shop nearby! InfoComm Leads Training in Colombia

InfoComm Leads Training in Colombia

Audiovisual industry professionals are finishing up at the conference and exhibition TecnoMultimedia-InfoComm 2011, being held at the Convention Center Plaza Mayor of Medellin, Colombia. This new two-day event has been important for the association, expanding our presence in Colombia and extending the training of industry professionals in Latin America.

Visitors to the tradeshow were struck by the large scale and innovative designs of the stands. The presence of companies such as Panasonic, Yamaki, Sony, BenQ, Epson, Samsung, Bosch and Williams Sound consolidated the event as the ideal place to present the latest technological advances and new trends in equipment. As for the academic component, assistants received training by InfoComm instructors on topics such as Integrated Intelligent Control Systems, Audiovisual Integration in the Classroom, Soundproofing and AV Design Fundamentals.

TecnoMultimedia-InfoComm 2011 has been a great collaboration with Latin Press.
